The staff in the Cottage Restaurant is sometimes asked, "What kind of food do you serve?" The easy answer is, "Only the best."
The longer answer is that the Cardinalli family came to America and the Monterey Peninsula from Italy five generations ago. Our family has been blessed to live in this great country. And we value our Italian heritage. So our food is the best American food we can make, blended with the hard work of our Italian ancestors, and the recipes of our family handed down from mother to daughter and son. Our Carmel by the Sea restaurant if a reflection of our purely American heritage.
Traditional American meals
We offer traditional American food including our gourmet hamburgers on our lunch menu and pizzas. We borrow on our European heritage in the specialty crepes as well as the dessert crepes. We lean back on our Italian roots when it comes to Ravioli du Jour, Tortellini, and Fettucine Alfredo. But our Chicken Stew and Chicken Salad are wholly American.
In the end, what's American about our food is we give you our best effort to provide you with quality food. It's a blend of our American heritage, our Italian roots, our location in Carmel, the best local ingredients, and the wonderful staff who prepare and serve you.
